Not every client wants the same thing: some would rather put up no capital, others want the asset on their balance sheet and the tax deduction. There are three routes, and the study shows you the numbers for each one applied to your case.
They can be combined — a first phase bought outright, the expansion on a PPA.
No investment
Pay for the energy
You put up no capital. You pay less per kWh than the grid charges.
An investor owns the system installed on your roof and you sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) at a per-kWh rate below what you pay today, for 10 to 15 years. At the end of the contract you can keep the system.

The incentives available in Colombia today
Law 1715 of 2014, amended by Law 2099 of 2021, created four benefits for anyone investing in generation from non-conventional sources.
Income tax deduction
Up to 50% of the investment, deductible from taxable income over the following 15 years.
VAT exclusion
Equipment and services for generation from non-conventional sources are excluded from VAT.
Import duty exemption
Equipment that must be imported and is not produced domestically is exempt from import duty.
Accelerated depreciation
Up to an overall annual rate of 33.33% on the project's assets.
The benefits require prior certification from the UPME and how they apply depends on your tax situation. We support you through the process, but the final call belongs to your accountant or statutory auditor.
